  POWER MOVES - MARLON SINGLETON BRAND MARKETING MANAGER

"Integrity and loyalty are great character builders!" "These are the words that I live by, says Brand and Experiential Marketing authority Marlon Singleton. For the past 13 years, Marlon has been working as the National Urban Brand Marketing and Promotions Manager for the #1 record company in the world, Interscope Geffen A&M Records.

As Brand Marketing Manager, Marlon is responsible for building brand awareness and joining forces with corporations to build the bridge between the music industry and corporate entities. Also, Marlon was responsible for coordinating and producing album release parties and special events to help promote and market both established and new artist on the I.G.A. label.

Marlon Singleton is a second generation music industry executive. He followed in the footsteps of his father Ernie Singleton, former President of Black Music for MCA, Warner Bros and Ruthless Records, who shaped the careers of a tremendous amount recording artist, Patti Labelle, Cameo, Parliament,
 
 
Donna Summer, Prince, New Edition, Bobby Brown, Guy, Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. You could say that Marlon has grown up front and center in the ever growing and changing industry of music.

Marlon started his career when he began interning for Lynn Allen Jeter and Associates in the Marketing and Event Planning Department as a freshman in college. He then went on to intern for a summer for clothing designers Cross Colours and Karl Kani in the marketing department branding the gear with top music industry tastemakers. Both internships were a stepping stone and building blocks to prepare him for the road ahead. After a few years at Ruthless Records in the mail room, he moved on to the promotions department.

Marlon began to move into the business he grew up watching. Moving on to Fully Loaded Records for a few years under his father's guidance Marlon began to quickly learn and understand his father's words..."Integrity! Don't lose it, don't sell it, and don't compromise it!!" After clipping his wings and moving on to Priority Records for a two year stint under the tutelage of Garnett March he began to learn about "Loyalty, always maintain it."

Since his beginning, Marlon has worked with and aided in the multi-platinum success of award winning artist such as Lady Gaga, Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Keyshia Cole, Pharrell, Black Eyed Peas, Three 6 Mafia, Robin Thicke, Kendrick Lamar and many more selling over 100 million albums. Not only has he been a part of the building accomplishments of artist but also the success of corporate blue chip companies Coca Cola, Ford, Lincoln, T-Mobile, Verizon, Ciroc, Beats By Dre, Coors and Red Bull.

During the Summer of 2013, Marlon Singleton began a new chapter in his career, after parting ways with Interscope Records. He has since taken on accounts to continue branding artists and various corporate companies, in a successful manner. He is also currently planning four major events hosted by Chris Paul, during the All Star Games which will be held in New Orleans in February 2014.
